Comment: Donor remark: Fodersockerbetan och moroten har odlats på gården i Bjurholm, Västerbottenav Elsas föräldrar sedan i början av 1900-talet. De fröodladebåde betan och moroten som Elsa fortsatte att odla när hon tog vid pågården på 1940-talet. Fodersockerbetan användes som djurfoder.Både morötterna och betorna förvarades i sandjord på matkällarensgolv. De som klarade sig bäst användes till fröodling året därpå. Dåsattes de i jord i stora träbaljor inne i källaren framför källarfönstret såde fick ljus. I maj lyftes baljorna ut, blev det risk för frost la man halmöver plantorna. Det var inte alla år som fröet hann mogna men de årsom de blev frön gav det så stora mängder att det räckte flera år.’Bjurholms fodersockerbeta’ är en avlång beta med rosarött skal ochvit botten.’Bjurholms morot’ är stor och kraftig med orange färg och väldigt rakcylindrisk form. Den ger väldigt god skörd och växer otroligt kraftfulltpå hösten.
