Narrative
Accession remark: Donatorn har sänt in frö till tobaken Tofta som odlades i hans hem i Fjälkinge i Skåne. Modern, liksom många kvinnor i trakten arbetade fram till 1964 med odling av tobak. 1965 upphörde Tobaksmonopolet. Tobaksodlingen innehåller många arbetasmoment. Tidigt på våren drogs plantorna upp i drivbänkar för att sedan planteras ut. Då tobaken är känslig för blåst planterades solrosor eller kronärtkocker som skydd. Under sommaren toppades plantan och man gödslade med chilisalpeter mellan raderna. Några plantor fick gå i blom för att ge frö. Allteftersom bladen växte sig stora bröts de av och träddes upp på spett för att torka. I november levererades tobaken till Tobaksmonopolet där bladen sorterades i olika kvaliteer och betalning bestämdes därefter.
