Narrative
Accession remark: Large leaves, early heading. Selection from a population including 1500 genotypes (4500 plants) from 100 old grass fields in Iceland (> 30 years old). The population was evaluated for many different traits (yield, shape, height, diseases, heading date, regrowth, winter hardiness, fineness) and five groups were selected according to the results of the evaluation. This accession is based on plants with large leaves, early heading. The plants have been growing at the Geitasandur since 1995.
