Narrative

Cultivar description: Stina is a moderately late potato for starch production, grown on a small scale in the south of Sweden. The tuber is round-oval with yellow skin and flesh. Stina is resistant to wart, common races of potato eelworm and virus Y. It is susceptible to late blight, Phoma and spraing (TRV). It has a high dry matter content and is unsuitable for consumption. ---- Sorten är en medelsen fabrikspotatis med ganska hög avkastning och stärkelsehalt. Knölen är rundoval med medeldjupa ögon och navelgrop. Skalet är gult och köttfärgen är gul. Ljusgrodden är kort, rödviolett, något hårig med upplöst spets. Plantan har ganska god täckning med ljusgrön färg. Blomningen är riklig med stor blomställning. Blomman är rödviolett med stora vita spetsar, som sträcker sig mot centrum. Riklig bärsättning. Sorten är kräftimmun och resistent mot de vanliga raserna av potatiscystnematod. Beträffande bladmögel, se under Cultivar facts, Historical info. Den är motståndskraftig mot krussjuka, men när den smittas, reagerar den med mycket kraftiga strecksjukesymptom (självsanerande). Stina är mottaglig för Phoma och rattle (rostringar). Sorten har hög torrsubstanshalt. Den är ej lämplig som matpotatis.; Cultivar facts: Stina släpptes av Sveriges Utsädesförening 1976. Sorten fick inte någon större utbredning, då den utlovade resistensen ej höll beroende på att nya raser av svampen blev vanliga. Sorten ströks ur listan 1994 både i Sverige och i Finland. Användning enligt Statens växtsortnämnd (Sverige) 1980: stärkelse och sprit.
