Narrative
Accession remark: LANDRACE NOR SWE FIN ISL; Cultivar description: Gullauge, is a second early-early maincrop variety of unknown origin. Gullauge has been grown for many years in the Nordic countries, is known in Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, and is still an important variety in Iceland. The tubers have medium deep red eyes. The colour of the tuber skin is white. The plants flower only occasionally. The flower colour is a very pale red violet. Gullauge is not resistant to wart disease, and highly susceptible to late blight and virus diseases. The table quality is excellent. Gullauge has also proved to be a good geniteur in breeding for chipping quality.; Cultivar facts: Has been on the norwegian variety list since 1953
