Narrative
This variety is originally from Moldavia where it is known as 'Noiabriskaia'. Mr. Laust Spandet Jensen of Fejø Frugt, Fejø Denmark, brought it to Denmark in 2005 via the university in Bonn, Germany. At the university in Bonn, the variety was planted in the collections under a number and was therefore named by Mr. Jensen after his youngest daughter Katrine. In 2007, he planted the first hectare of ‘Katrine’ pears at his orchards on Fejø. The variety is suitable for commercial growing.
