Sofie Æble was evaluated under unsprayed conditions in the period of 2006-2009, Sofie Æble got scab attack on almost half of the leaves, scab attack on approx. half of the apples, no fruit cancer on the branches, mildew attack on approx. 25% of the shoots, flyspeck/soothy blotch on approx. 25 % fruits and no shoots with rosy apple aphid. The flower buds are mainly situated at older branches. The colour of the flower at the balloon stage is light pink, the blossom is early. The flowers are large with petals, that are touching each other. The variety is triploid and has the following alleles of self-incompatibility 1/3/7.
