akobers History and usage Jakober is originally from Denmark from Bornholm from Bodilsker på Bornholm It is also known under the synonyms Jacober. The variety is or has been grown rarely or not at all in Denmark. Jakober grows at the Pometum. The tree The yield is low. The flower buds are mainly situated at older branches. The colour of the flower at the balloon stage is purple, the blossom is very late. The flowers are medium sized with petals, that are touching each other. The variety is diploid and has the following alleles of self-incompatibility 3/10. The quality and season of the apple The season of the apple is very late, to enjoy from January. Jakober is mature for harvesting middle to late (first part of Oktober). The external of the apple The shape is flat-globose The covercolour covers approx. 50 % of the apple. It forms a a weakly defined flush with strongly defined stripes. The internal of the apple When you cut the apple from eye to stalk, you can see the following characteristics: The tube is funnel-shaped/conical and the stamens are inserted at the base/in the middle of the eye. The green lines around the core end at the base of the tube, but don´t touch each other/end at the middle of the tube.
