Narrative

Thyrislunds History and usage Thyrislund is originally from Denmark from central Jutland from Tyrislund ved Rønde ? The variety is or has been grown rarely or not at all in Denmark. Thyrislund grows at the Pometum. The cultivar is also shown at: Gl. Estrup/Randers Regnskov. The tree The yield is medium. The cultivar is very robust towards apple scab, sensitive towards apple mildew og very robust towards apple cancer. Thyrislund got in the period of 2006-2009 evaluated under unsprayed conditions. Thyrislund got scab attack on very few leaves, no scab attack on the apples, no fruit cancer on the branches, mildew attack on almost half of the shoots, no fruits with flyspeck/soothy blotch and no shoots with rosy apple aphid. The flower buds are mainly situated at older branches. The flowers are medium sized with petals, that are touching each other. The variety is diploid and has the following alleles of self-incompatibility 1/3. The quality and season of the apple Smager lidt af jordbær. The external of the apple with a length of 59 mm and a diameter of 70 mm, measured at maximum width. The covercolour covers approx. 50 % of the apple. It forms a only a solid flush/a solid flush with weakly defined stripes. The internal of the apple When you cut the apple from eye to stalk, you can see the following characteristics: The tube is funnel-shaped and the stamens are inserted near the margin of the eye. The green lines around the core end at the middle of the tube. The core is hearth shaped. If you cut the apple horizontally, the core will look half open/open. The diameter of the core is approx. 41mm. The core fill out approx. 0,58 of the cross cut of the whole apple.
