Belle de Boskoop Rød has been known in Denmark since 1949. The variety is or has been grown widely in Denmark. Belle de Boskoop Rød was recommended for growing in Denmark latest in year 2004. Belle de Boskoop Rød is or has been suitable for growing in orchards/in gardens. The apple is a culinary apple. Belle de Boskoop Rød grows at the Pometum. The cultivar is also shown at: Blomstergårdens Pomet. The tree The canopy density is good. Belle de Boskoop Rød got in the years 1997 and 1999 evaluated under unsprayed conditions in southern Germany. Belle de Boskoop Rød got no scab on the apples, scab attack on approx. 25 % of the leaves og mildew attack on approx. 25% of the shoots. The flower buds are mainly situated at young shoots/older branches. The colour of the flower at the balloon stage is light pink, the blossom is early. The flowers are large with petals, that are overlapping. The variety is triploid and has the following alleles of self-incompatibility 2/3/5. The diameter of the core is approx. 41mm. The core fill out approx. 0,51 of the cross cut of the whole apple. The pips are medium sized and redbrown. The skin is thick and the fruit flesh has a yellowish colour. The flesh is medium firm/hard with a course texture.
