Comment: Donor remark: Weed in traditional rye cultivation. this accession is collected togeather with Gotlandsråg (NGB 21083) and Klett (NGB21086). Redlisted in Sweden. The weed seeds survive in rye seed batches and do not show dormancy. In earlier times the "weed" was used for fodder and food for humans, especially in wet years when the rye did have problems. In this way it has functioned as an insurance and a certain amount of the crop was accepted as weed in traditional rye cultivation.
