Accession remark: Anledning till REJ: Svenska Nationella Programmet ansvarar nu for material och data; Cultivar facts: Gammal sort med osäkert ursprung. Det mest sannolika synes vara att sorten först odlats i Tyskland, men det är ej uteslutet att den kommit från Frankrike. Sorten har gått under flera olika namn, något som har försvårat utredningen om sortens härkomst. Sorten torde ha odlats i Sverige åtmintone sedan mitten av 1800-talet. Den planteras inte mera nu längre, men förekom ofta förr i äldre trädgårdar. (Knut Sakshaug, Pomologia Suecica, 2001)
