Habitat: Grows in a north-facing slope, with open soil caused by erosion. Along a mountain side at 450 – 500 masl. Companying species include Empetrum nigrum, Festuca rubra, Alchemilla sp.

Comment: Seeds collected from more than 150 individuals. Collected along a north-facing mountain side by the ski resort area Tindastóll.
