Habitat: In a wet area among Carex sp. On the island Engey. The island was inhabited from the settlement of Iceland until 1958. No inhabitants in the past 65 years. No grazing for more than 10 years, except by wild geese. Abundant sea bird colony on the island results in extremely rich fertilization. First observation of Poa trivialis in Engey is 1939 (GBIF).

Comment: Seeds collected from more than 100 individuals. Engey is an island in the sea (Kollafjörður) outside Reykjavík. It was inhabited from the settlement of Iceland until 1958. For the past 65 years it has been uninhabited.
