Narrative
Found on the small Island Koholm in Odense Fjord, Fyn. Danmark. While working as a teacher at the nearby boarding school Klinteberg Efterskole in 1989 Mr. Knud Haugsted found a pear tree on the small exposed island of Koholm. The pears where enjoyed by teachers and pupils alike, also years earlier when the boarding school was a school home the pear tree was prized. In 1990 Knud Haugsted decided to take grafting material to see how the variety would behave in his garden. At the time, the tree was 5-6 meters in height, had a trunk diameter of about 30 centimeters and was estimated to be around 50 years old. With its position on a small uninhabited island it is fair to assume it to be a chance seedling.
