14NGB 132128 Bönan BirgittaPhaseolus vulgaris L. var. vulgaris 10.18730/1K7Q7KSkåne län, SwedenNORDGEN2021ORIGIN2021-11-09999Strong growing snap bean/green bean (brytböna). Height 60-70 cm, needs support. Early flowers whitish which later turns slightly blue-purple. Tasty, somewhat sweet. Pods without strings. Good for freezing. Normally without problems regarding fungal diseases and insects. Good field germination ability. According to the donor the accession is suspected to be a spontaneous hybrid (open pollination) between a green been (brytböna) and a yellow been (vaxböna) which were cultivated together in an allotment garden at Linåker in Svalöv (owned since 1960 by the original donors Anna Maria and Algot Zander). After a couple of years the green been was found to have less or no strings and the taste has improved compared to the original been. Seeds was later inherited by Birgitta Andersson in Uppsala (doughter to the original donors) and Erland Jordow in Asmundtorp (Scania) who continued to grew this "new" been. In Asmundtorp the cultivation of the accessions started in1994. The seeds donated to NordGen were from the Asmundtorp harvest 2020. 52593NGB 132128

44925NGB 11749
